Humble Beginings
Far from the first event I did back at Born Survivor in August 2013 with less than a handful of 5 k runs under my belt .
When Parkruns we're still figments of someone's imagination and HIIT sessions were still considered to hip for UK shores.
Many a morning trail run 🏃🏼 strength and conditioning session, setback and bout of fatigue from overdoing it on Ultra runs , we have all been there.
Yet here am in the Elite category of the OCR European championships .
I can readily admit I certainly ain't the fastest man out there or the most technically gifted when it comes to getting around a rig. But I can say with certainty that I ain't no slouch and there's been no free rides and a shit load of effort tears blood and pain exchanged for my opportunity to compete against the best this coming weekend in Frankfurt Germany.
Those of you who know me know my journey the man I was, the man I am now and the man I strive to be .
Not everyone's cup of tea but hey I think I've upset more people being one of the good guys than I ever did before I chose the path I'm on now.
The past 2 years I've levelled up again and again and I'm as ready as I'll ever be . Training camp was good till I sprained my ankle last Saturday, an hr spent under the physio tonight has eased it a little but hey ho that's life.
And in the similar words of Rocky Balboa,"The world aint all sunshine and rainbows, It can be me a mean a nasty place at times and it will beat you down if you let it !
But keep your head up and keep moving forward and believe!!!
That's how winning is done 🏃🏼🇬🇧💪
I fly out there Friday with my hopes and dreams and fears and step up to the platform that is called life!
